Hello Sakai-Devs,

We are considering upgrading our mysql connector-j to version 5.1.49.  Is anyone running that version?  With MySQL 5.7?

The previous version, 5.1.48, had some issues with timestamps.  (see https://groups.google.com/a/apereo.org/g/sakai-dev/c/aeQ9QYZqmd8/m/fT_DsYlNAQAJ).  5.1.49 has some timestamp related bugfixes, but I don't know if those fix the issues mentioned in that old thread.

Thanks,

Austin

It looks like nightly is still using the same version it was in 2020: mysql-connector-java-5.1.46. Guess we never upgraded to the version with potential timestamp issues.

I've locally been using MariaDB for at least a year with the MariaDB connector provided with Sakai.

We've wanted to setup Nightly to use MariaDB and also MySQL 8 but have been waiting on Azure credits to see where we go with those. Maybe after Sakai Days.

In the old thread, the timestamp issue was described as "(some dates started showing up as GMT) with 5.1.48".  Anyone know specifically which dates?  or Which tools were affected?  (vs. having to test every date in the app ;) It would be great to be able to test that against 5.1.49.
