Surrogate Authentication not working with Basic Authentication

Hi,

we are using CAS 5.3.16 and have configured surrogate authentication, which works. We have also enabled basic authentication, which also works. What is not working however is passing a surrogate login in the form [surrogate-userid][separator][primary-userid] via basic authentication - it does not invoke the surrogate flow.

Is there some way to make it work, or does surrogate authentication always require interactive credential input in the login form?
