using CAS 4.2.6, i test REST API

curl -i -k -X POST -d "username=casuser&password=Mellon" https://demo.ssoserver.com:8443/cas/v1/tickets

HTTP/1.1 302 

Location: /cas/login

Content-Type: text/html;charset=UTF-8

Content-Length: 0

Date: Sun, 02 Oct 2016 06:06:16 GMT

but CAS 4.2.5 is OK.

That's a know issue and will be fixed in the master (if not already).
