About the Award:
In 2026, the editorial board of Geobios aims to support two young researchers in the domains of palaeontology, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, palaeobiogeography, (bio)stratigraphy and biogeochemistry (see our Aims and Scope: https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/geobios).
Each awardee will receive €500 in order to cover expenses related to their ongoing PhD or postdoc projects. This funding is intended to cover travel or analytical costs necessary to finalize data acquisition, with the goal of facilitating publication. The award does not cover Open Access fees, registration to meetings or conferences, small equipment (computers, hard drive, software, etc).
We encourage proposals which clearly demonstrate how the award will contribute to project finalization and future publication. Submission of the resulting article to Geobios is not mandatory. However, recipients must explicitly acknowledge the Geobios Young Researcher Award and the year of attribution in the acknowledgements section of any related publication.
The Geobios Editorial Board will oversee the review process. The two categories (PhD and Postdoctoral) will be evaluated separately, with distinct selection and shortlisting procedures. Applicants will be notified of the decision in October 2026.
