Dear APAC Space members,

 

In case you are interested, the following new public comment proceedings are open for input:

 

Description: The ICANN Meetings and Global Stakeholder Engagement team worked together to select the preliminary dates for ICANN Public Meetings for 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033. In selecting dates for meetings from 2029 to 2033, ICANN org strives to avoid scheduling conflicts with global, national, and religious holidays, and community events. The proposed dates in this document are for your consideration and comments.

Description: ICANN org seeks input on the Controlled Interruption IPv6 Research Study Summary Report, which proposes the use of ::ffff:127.0.53.53 in the AAAA record for future controlled interruption activities. A research study has been performed to identify one or more IPv6 candidate prefixes that may be suitable for use during controlled Interruption. Two candidates were identified by the study, the preferred candidate is ::ffff:127.0.53.53.

Description: The GNSO Council is proposing a process for the ICANN community’s consideration to enable the ICANN Board to reconsider a previously adopted policy recommendation from the GNSO. This proposal is based on the identification of a procedural gap, specifically the lack of a defined process for the Board to reconsider an adopted GNSO policy recommendation. The GNSO is now seeking community input on the proposed updates to ensure the updates strike the right balance of necessary flexibility and appropriate guardrails.

Description: ICANN org has updated the String Similarity Evaluation (SSE) Guidelines, which are intended to be used by the SSE panel, along with the SSE tool and related SSE data (published for public comment), to conduct an evaluation of the applied-for strings in the New gTLD Program: 2026 Round. SSE prevents user confusion resulting from the delegation of visually similar strings. These guidelines are being published for community input.

Description: ICANN is seeking inputs to the “Registration Data Request Service Policy Alignment Analysis [itp.cdn.icann.org]”. This paper outlines a proposed road map for addressing RDRS-related policy gaps and will help guide conversations between the ICANN Board and the GNSO as they review the work of the Proxy Services Accreditation Issues (PPSAI) Implementation Review Team (IRT) and Registration Data Policy IRT.
