Dear aomedia community,

I am studying AFGS1 and had a question about the interpretation of conformance option 2.

My understanding is that option 2 allows implementation flexibility as long as the resulting pictures do not have perceptually significant differences compared with the reference model output.

In my case, the film grain noise is computed correctly, but it is applied after a display transform such as rotation or flipping of the image. In other words, the grain remains visually correct relative to the transformed picture, but the output would not be a pixel-exact match to the reference-model result in the original raster orientation.

Would such an implementation be considered acceptable under option 2 conformance, assuming the result has no perceptually significant difference from the intended reference appearance?

Best regards,

Hervé DANIEL
