Help installing pop os

I recently tried to use the live disk to reinstall, but after using gparted to fix my file table and settings how I want the installation default to a previous setup I done like. Worst of all it seems the live disk is using some for of persistent data. Not sure if it is some cache files I can delete or am I missing something?
