Dear AANZCA colleagues, I hope this finds you well.

My institution is seeking to revisit the question of ‘research active’ classifications and definitions.

We are allowed to put forward discipline specific ones, and I know there are large issues here around time period, not traditional outputs, minimum requirements for supervisor registers etc.

It would be useful in this context to do some informal benchmarking.

This is an invitation to anyone who wishes to do some informal benchmarking. Essentially I am prepared to gather what I received and share it with the participants in what is hopefully a mutually beneficial exercise. To keep down traffic on the list please email me directly at steven...@uwa.edu.au

Kind regards

Steven

The Academic Excellence Framework is being rolled out at USyd which has quant as well as qual criteria at each level of academic position.

It is increasingly going to guide academic promotion. Not sure how granular it is about disciplinary difference, which is quite considerable e.g. h-indexes matter in Sociology but not in English or SCA.

Perhaps we can talk offline about it.
