Dear Friends of NOCCA:
We hope that you and yours are safe, sound, and well as our region recovers from Hurricane Ida. We understand first-hand the struggles that many of you have endured to secure basic services and necessities, and we thank you for taking the time to read this.
For those who have asked about NOCCA, the campus sustained some damage during the storm, but we're happy to report that virtual classes begin next week. We hope that in-person instruction will resume soon after.
Ida's impact on NOCCA's young artists has been more varied. The school serves a large swath of the state--up to 17 parishes--and many students and their families need emergency support. At the NOCCA Foundation, our top hurricane recovery priorities include crucial programs for those affected by Ida:
-
Emergency food assistance
- Covering college application and audition fees for seniors
-
Support for travel to college auditions
Sincerely,
