The Department of Psychology at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for two probationary (tenure-track) positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2014 subject to budgetary approval. Current department strengths are in cognition, animal behaviour, and developmental, comparative and evolutionary psychology with research and teaching progams encompassing a range of foci related to human and nonhuman perception and categorization, social behaviour, sexuality, communication and language. Our affiliation with the Canadian Center for Behavioural Neuroscience provides complementary strengths in learning and memory, motor systems function, neural plasticity, and recovery of function. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who can complement existing departmental strengths and research emphases.
Candidates will have a Ph.D. and will be expected to develop a strong, externally funded research programme that will include opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students and contribute to the expansion of our graduate program in all areas of psychology and, in particular, our PhD program in Behaviour and Evolution. New Faculty are eligible for funding in support of research and scholarly activities.
