The Behavioral and Cognitive Ecology lab (
http://wolfweb.unr.edu/homepage/vpravosu/;
https://www.facebook.com/chickadeecognition?ref=hl) at the University of Nevada Reno (Dr. Pravosudov) is looking for 1-2 PhD students to join the lab. Research in the lab has been lately focused on ecology of food-caching mountain chickadees along an elevation gradient in Sierra Nevada and we conduct both laboratory and field studies. We have excellent laboratory facilities to study behavior and neurobiology and a well-established field site near Truckee (CA) with numerous nestboxes and RFID-equipped feeders. Our established mountain chickadee system provides excellent opportunities to investigate a broad range of questions in animal behavior, behavioral, cognitive and neuro- ecology. Graduate students should apply through the Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology (EECB) program (
http://www.unr.edu/eecb) and funding will be provided via either teaching (TA) or research (RA) assistantship.
Prior to applying, interested students should contact Dr. Vladimir Pravosudov (
vpra...@unr.edu) and email a statement of research interests, previous experiences and a CV.
