Research assistants for field work rodent ecology and behavior needed. Research assistants will work on a project that examines how hormones modulate parental behavior in California mice. Field work will take place at the Hastings Natural History Reserve in Carmel Valley, California from January through April 2015. Field work will include rodent live-trapping and handling, measuring field behavior (via acoustic and video recording), and radio-telemetry. The field team may include research associates, graduate students, and research assistants.
Housing will be provided. Hours may vary upon need, weather, equipment, etc. Mandatory health screenings will be required and covered by the University.
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a combination of training and experience required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A high school diploma and valid driver's license is required.
Preferred qualifications: Background in Biology and experience working with rodents in remote field locations.
Applicants will work in extreme environments (i.e., cold and wet or hot and humid), often at night, and in physically demanding terrain.
