insect communication and conservation behavioral ecology – University of New
Hampshire
Graduate positions (M.S./Ph.D.) in insect communication and
conservation behavioral ecology in the labs of Dr. Daniel R. Howard and Dr. Carrie
L. Hall, Department of Biological Sciences, University of New Hampshire.
We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic
graduate students to work on collaborative research projects investigating
acoustic and vibrational signal evolution in orthopterans and coleopterans
(Howard) and insect-microbe coevolution and its influence in behavior and parental
care (Hall). Qualified candidates should have completed a B. S. in the
Biological Sciences, Zoology, Ecology, Animal Behavior, Wildlife Ecology, or a
related discipline, and be broadly interested in the behavioral ecology,
evolution, and conservation of invertebrates. Experience working in a
bioacoustics or microbiology lab and field ecology experience is a plus.
Funding in the form of assistantships and material research support are available
for qualified candidates.
If you are interested, please send an introduction email including a statement
of research interests and a CV (including GPA and GRE scores) to Dr. Daniel R.
Howard (daniel...@unh.edu) or Dr. Carrie L. Hall (carri...@unh.edu). We
will start reviewing applications immediately, and we will continue reviewing
