Description: I am seeking field assistants for a project on social behavior, courtship displays, and cooperation in Golden-winged Manakins Masius chrysopterus. This project is being conducted at Milpe Bird Sanctuary near Mindo, Ecuador. Field assistants will help with observation of lek sites, mist-netting, and setting up video cameras. This is a great chance to gain tropical experience in general and experience with birds and mist-netting in particular.
No experience is necessary, though applicants with relevant experience will gain precedence. This is moderately physically demanding work and applicants must be able to hike long distances on muddy, steep trails and to work outside for 8 hours a day.
