Volunteer field assistants are needed for behavioral ecology research on Golden-winged Manakins Masius chrysopterus. Research will be conducted on the west slope of the Andes at Milpe Bird Sanctuary near Mindo, Ecuador. Work will include mist-netting birds and behavioral observation. Fieldwork begins in mid-June and ends in late August. Experience and Spanish language skills preferred but not necessary. Must be comfortable working most of the day in tropical rainforest conditions and able to hike long distances in mountainous, muddy terrain.
