I'm looking for a volunteer field/lab assistant for my work on jumping spiders in the Maratus genus (peacock spiders), examining their communication and mating behavior.

My research is based in Sydney, Australia, so I am looking for volunteers for several specimen collection expeditions, preferably from interested people who are already in or will be in the area for the next several months (September – December 2014). Those interested must be absolutely okay with handling spiders, as well as be capable of (and willing to) spend full days outside hiking.  Additionally, assistance with running behavioral experiments may be needed.

Travel costs to various collection locales, within Australia, will be covered as well as most field expenses. When we are collecting outside of Sydney, food and accommodation will be covered as well. Please contact Maddie at maddiegirard34@berkeley.edu for more detail
