We have two positions in the labs of Drs. Daniel R. Howard and Carrie L. Hall of Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD studying the conservation behavior of the endangered American burying beetle (Nicrophorus americanus). One project is focused on understanding the influence of anthropogenic vibration on reproductive behavior in the focal species, while the other position is investigating its conservation genetics in respect to interspecific interactions with a bacterial symbiont. The deadline for application to these NSF REU positions in 31 March 2013. Contact Dr. Daniel R. Howard for application specifics (daniel...@augie.edu).
