Overview
The School of Psychology is seeking a fixed term full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on the 3 year project: ‘Lateralised behaviour as a predictor of welfare risk in the domestic dog, Canis familiaris’.  The research, which is funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, will explore the relationship between lateral bias and welfare risk, testing the hypothesis on the domestic dog, a species often exposed to situations that may compromise.  The successful applicant will work alongside the Principal Investigator (Dr Deborah Wells, Senior Lecturer), Co-Applicant (Professor Peter Hepper) and a Research Assistant (to be appointed) to evaluate the potential of motor asymmetry in the form of paw preferences to assess vulnerability to poor well-being.
