Switching cameras while video recording

Does CameraX supporting switching cameras while recording video? For example if I started recording with the back camera and then wanted to switch to the front camera without the recording being stopped. From what I understand, I tried switching through unbinding all the camera provider's use cases and then rebinding them with the new camera position but this causes issues with the Recording being stopped. I know this is something that can be done with camera2 but I was wondering if there was a way to stay with CameraX. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately it is not supported right now. We understand this is a useful feature and will consider supporting it in the future.
