Crash while image Analysis

Hi Team,

Our app does show camera in multiple modes to scan for Document, whiteboard, etc,.. as a carousel, like in the native camera app where user can swipe though modes and click images.

In our app:

when a user changes modes we re-bind preview and ImageAnalysis usecases.

In each mode, we analyse imageProxy received and close before returning. (This takes around ~30ms).

It is observed that when changing modes app is crashing with below error:

04-15 21:28:36.642 15900-16143/<package_name>.SampleApp W/ImageReader_JNI: ImageReader#close called before Image#close, consider calling Image#close first
    
    --------- beginning of crash
04-15 21:28:36.645 15900-16143/<package_name>.SampleApp A/libc: Fatal signal 11 (SIGSEGV), code 1, fault addr 0x97ec4000 in tid 16143 (pool-7-thread-1)

Can you please let us know if this is a known issue ?

Logged a bug https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/154155383 in tracker.

FYI issue is reproducible in "camera-sample/CameraXbasic" app as well.
