Automotive System image for API level 29 in Android Studio

Announcement 

The Google Generic Automotive system image for API level 29 (Android 10) available via Android Studio. 

How to check if the system image you have is the right one 

$ adb shell getprop ro.build.fingerprint 

google/sdk_gcar_x86/generic_x86:10/QA1A.200905.004/6842591:user/release-keys

How to get it 

- On SDK manager, enable "Show package Details" (located right bottom corner) 

- Under Android 10.0 (Q) , look for Automotive with Play Store Intel x86 Atom System Image

- Look for an update with Revision 1

How to test w/ Google Assistant

- On your emulator, enable Extended Controls > Microphone > "Virtual microphone uses host audio input" 

- Within the automotive image running on the emulator, ensure you login with a test gmail account in the sys image, Settings -> Account -> Add account

Known Issues 

- the system image is marked as beta, so ensure you are using latest studio canary

Hello AAOS Team -

When will this be available in the Android Studio stable channel?

Following the instructions in previous message, I switched to Canary and downloaded the Android Automotive 10 image, however it still isn't available when trying to create a new AVD. Here are some additional details -

Trying to create AVD, but Android 10 automotive image still not available

No, nothing in "x86 Images" or "Other Images" tabs.
