Foreground Service support in 3rd Party App on Android Automotive OS

Hi Automotive Team,

I have one query regarding implementation of foreground service for an Android app for Automotive.

My Use case :

My app  want to track the Car speed in the background on Android Automotive.

Is this Supported by Android Automotive?

What you can / cannot do in the background via foreground services is an area that is evolving with android release.

As I understand from your response, I can use background services or foreground services in the same way as I used to develop apps for Mobile.

Or 

Is there any difference in behavior on Android Automotive.

correct, the standard android OS rules apply here as well (depending on which API level you are targeting your app for).
