Will Android Automotive or Android Auto open up to non-media and messaging apps?

Waze was added as an alternative to maps but support for navigation apps has not been made available for other developers. Are there plans to support other app types? POI type apps like yelp or gas buddy would be useful to drivers.

I agree, and how about other navigation apps?
The SDK is not open and that's why we still can't use TomTom or Flitsmeister navigation.

FYI, that app as I understand is being supported because you cannot use Google Maps for navigation in Korea.

They needed to have a different solution for the Korea market.
