Looking for a free illustrator program to make digital drawings, logos, diagrams, and charts? Already working on digital illustrations, graphic designs, and projects that you would like to show off? Come join Makers@Amherst Media’s January Workshop where we will be working with the free software Inkscape.

Introduction to Digital Illustration: Using Inkscape

During this workshop we will explore the possibilities of the free and open-source graphics editor, Inkscape.

In the morning, we will learn about Inkscape by taking a sketch, scanning it, and transforming it into a clean-lined vector version. Over lunch, we will discuss the possible applications of this software and any projects participants are working on and the afternoon will consist of open work time.

• We recommend bringing a laptop, but we will have some computers available.
• We also recommend installing the program before the workshop: Download it here. If you have any issues with installation we can help you at the start of the workshop.

The workshop is free to attend but if you’re able to chip in $5 for lunch, we’d be very grateful.
