The Acquisitions Specialist is responsible for the acquisition of library materials in multiple formats from a variety of U.S. and non U.S. vendors. They maintain financial records, monitor day to day expenditures, and process all acquisitions invoices. They track firm and standing orders to ensure prompt payment. The Acquisitions Specialist works with vendors to facilitate resolution of problems and assists with library materials data collection/analysis activities. The University of Dayton Libraries seeks a part-time (20 hours per week) Electronic Resources Specialist to support electronic resources management, discovery and access. Reporting to the Coordinator of Electronic Resources & Discovery within the Collections Strategies & Services division, the Electronic Resources Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining access to materials in the library that arrive on a periodic basis, including but not limited to e-journals, e-books, online newspapers, databases, and streaming videos. Work will involve updating knowledgebase holdings, assessing existing holdings for accuracy, maintaining the libraries’ a-z database list, and pulling usage statistics. The Electronic Resources Specialist also provides troubleshooting support for access issues, communicating effectively with vendors, library users, and library staff.
