Call for participation: "Hello, who's speaking?" - Panel for the general public at AIxIA 2024, 28/11/2024 at 18:15, unibz

Dear members of AIxIA,

As an integral part of AIxIA 2024, we are organizing a panel tailored to the general public on artificial intelligence techniques for natural and artificial language(s).

The panel is scheduled for 28/11/2024 at 18:15 in the aula magna of unibz. 

For logistic reasons, we kindly ask those who intend to attend the panel to register as soon as possible at this page: 

The panel will host outstanding researchers in the field, representing academia and industry:

- Marco Baroni (Professor at Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona)

- Pascale Fung (Senior Director of AI Research at Meta; Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology)

- Roberto Navigli (Professor at Sapienza University of Rome)

- Malvina Nissim (Professor at the University of Groningen)

- Barbara Plank (Professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich)

- Marco Turchi (Head of machine translation at Zoom Video Communications)

The panel will be coordinated by Silvia Fabbi, a journalist with a degree in cognitive sciences and artificial intelligence. 

Panelists will interact in English, but the room will be equipped with simultaneous translation in Italian and German.
