-- Apologies for cross-postings --

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite submissions to RHEUM-AI, the 1st Workshop on Advanced Computational Methods for Rheumatologic Imaging, to be held in conjunction with MICCAI 2026 in Strasbourg, France.

Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) represent a major global health burden. While AI-driven analysis has seen success in oncology and cardiology, rheumatologic imaging remains a key frontier. RHEUM-AI aims to bridge the gap between algorithmic development and real-world clinical needs, focusing on robustness, interpretability, and multimodal integration.

Please find the full call for papers below. We would greatly appreciate it if you could consider submitting your work and sharing this CFP with interested colleagues and students.

Best regards,

The RHEUM-AI Organizing Committee

CALL FOR PAPERS: RHEUM-AI 2026 Workshop @ MICCAI 2026 Location: Strasbourg, France - Date: SEPT. 27 2026 (MICCAI 2026 Satellite Event) Webpage: https://rheum-ai.github.io/miccai2026/

DESCRIPTION & SCOPE

The RHEUM-AI workshop welcomes original contributions focused on the development and application of innovative AI and Computer Assisted Intervention (CAI) methods tailored to the specific needs of rheumatology. We encourage submissions that address clinical impact, temporal dynamics, and patient-specific variability.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Computer-aided diagnosis and classification

  • Quantitative assessment and clinical scoring (e.g., RAMRIS, OMERACT, Sharp)

  • Segmentation of joints, bones, cartilage, and soft tissues

  • Multimodal and multi-source learning (imaging, clinical, genetic data)

  • Temporal and longitudinal modeling for disease progression

  • Foundation models and representation learning for rheumatologic imaging

  • Generative and data-centric AI (data augmentation, cross-modality synthesis)

  • Explainable, trustworthy, and robust AI

  • Federated and privacy-preserving learning

  • Clinical translation and workflow integration

  • Datasets, benchmarks, and community challenges

SUBMISSION & REVIEW PROCESS

  • Double-blind peer-review: Each submission will be evaluated by at least three independent reviewers.

  • Submission Platform: OpenReview (https://openreview.net/group?id=MICCAI.org/2026/Workshop/RHEUM-AI).

  • Proceedings: Accepted papers will be included in the MICCAI Satellite Events LNCS proceedings, published by Springer Nature.

  • Award: A Best Paper Award will be presented during the workshop.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Workshop paper submission deadline: July 1, 2026

  • Notification of acceptance: July 31, 2026
