Call for expressions of interest -- 13th Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics

Dear all,
the Italian Association of Computational Linguistics (AILC) hereby invites proposals to host the 13th Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics in 2027. At this time, we seek preliminary expressions of interest from prospective bidders. Promising bidders will be asked by the AILC board to provide additional information for the final selection.
In this first call for interest, the draft proposals should only identify a conference co-chair leading also the local organisation, a location and proposed dates. Then, upon acceptance of the first proposal, selected candidates will be asked to submit a more detailed description of the arrangement, equipment, location, catering costs, etc.
The AILC board will evaluate the final proposals according to the following criteria:
Location and local arrangements (accessibility, conference venue, accommodation, dining options)
Scientific profile of the co-chair leading the local committee
IT-oriented or humanities-oriented profile of the proposing institution compared to the previous edition of CLiC-it (a different profile each year is preferable)
Geographical balance w.r.t. to the previous CLiC-it editions
Adequacy of expense projections
Important Dates:
- July 20 , 2026: Notify intention to submit proposal
- July 27, 2026: Feedback from AILC board concerning the expressions of interest
- September 4, 2026: Final bid due for the proposals accepted after the first step
- September 11, 2026: Bids ranked
Expressions of interest should be sent via email to the President (elisabett...@unimib.it) and the Vice-President (sato...@fbk.eu) of AILC by July 20, 2026.
