Dear Colleagues, 
If you work at the forefront of computer science, neuroscience, cognitive science, philosophy, ethics, or law, you are invited to submit your work to the 1st Workshop on Consciousness and AI: Minds, Machines & Mystery, co-located with the AIxIA conference in Perugia, Italy.

This workshop provides a multidisciplinary forum to explore one of the most intriguing frontiers in modern science: the intersection of artificial intelligence, cognitive architectures, and the nature of consciousness.

Topics of Interest
* Theoretical frameworks for machine consciousness and artificial sentience
* Computational models of mind, awareness, and subjective experience
* Neuro-inspired AI architectures and cognitive systems
* Philosophical, ethical, and legal implications of potentially conscious AI
* Metrics, tests, and benchmarks for assessing machine awareness
* The "Hard Problem" of consciousness in the age of Foundation Models and LLMs

Submission Guidelines
The following categories of submissions are welcome:
* Full Papers: Up to 15 pages
* Short Papers: Up to 5 pages (ideal for work in progress, extended abstracts, PhD research, or project overviews)

* Acceptance Notification: August 30, 2026
