Dear AIxIA members,

we are pleased to announce that the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA) offers student grants to support participation in the 24th International Conference of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA 2026).

This initiative aims to encourage students interested in Artificial Intelligence to take an active role in the AIxIA community and to participate in the scientific activities of the conference.

Full details are available at:
https://aixia2026.unipg.it/call/grants.html

The grants will cover 400 € of the registration fee and will be awarded as a discount code to be used during the registration process.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must:

  • be enrolled in a Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. programme, or have recently graduated — at most one year before the application — from a Bachelor or Master programme;
  • be AIxIA members for the second half of 2026;
  • have good English skills.

Application procedure

Applications must be submitted via the following form by July 5th, 2026:
https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/DMGS5K7

The application must include:

  • name, surname, email address, and affiliation;
  • status of the candidate, i.e., student or recently graduated;
  • a letter from a researcher or professor including an assessment of the candidate’s current status;
  • a one-page curriculum vitae, at most 500 words, in PDF format.

Bachelor and Master students must include their average mark. Recently graduated students must include their graduation date and graduation mark.

Evaluation by Travel Grant Chairs

Applications will be evaluated by a commission composed of:

  • Gabriele Costante, University of Perugia;
  • Nicola Gigante, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.

The commission will select the grant recipients based on the following criteria:

  1. quality of the submitted curriculum vitae;
  2. co-authorship of a contribution accepted in the Doctoral Consortium — only original DC contributions will be considered, excluding contributions already accepted in other venues;
  3. co-authorship of a contribution accepted at the conference;
  4. co-authorship of a contribution accepted at the workshops.

Grant notifications will be sent by late July or early August 2026.

Important information

Selected students must explicitly confirm their participation and acceptance of the grant within 3 days after notification. Failure to confirm within this timeframe will result in the immediate reallocation of the grant to another candidate.

The grant consists of a discount code of exactly 400 €, to be used at the time of registration. It is the student’s responsibility to apply the code during the online registration procedure.

Applicants must wait for the official grant notification and receive their discount code before registering. Reimbursement cannot be guaranteed for registrations completed before receiving the notification.

We kindly invite you to circulate this call among potentially interested students and young researchers.

Best regards,

Valentina Franzoni, publicity chair
