The 2nd Workshop on Artificial Intelligence with and for Learning Sciences: Past, Present, and Future Horizons (WAILS 2025) will take place on December 10–12, 2025, in Cagliari, Italy. The workshop is a high-quality forum focused on achievements, challenges, solutions, and future perspectives concerned with the adoption of artificial intelligence methods and techniques in the context of learning sciences. Proceedings will be published in Springer LNCS (submitted for inclusion in DBLP, Google Scholar, Scopus).

We are currently inviting submissions for the following tracks:

Full and Short Papers
  • Types: Full papers (12–15 pages), Short papers (6–11 pages)

  • Important Dates:

    • Submission deadline: September 18, 2025 (AoE)

    • Notification: October 23, 2025 (AoE)

    • Camera-ready: November 6, 2025 (AoE)

Doctoral Symposium Papers
  • Audience: Doctoral students at least six months from completing their dissertation, with a defined research area/topic

  • Submission package:
    - Research description (max 6 pages, Springer single-column format)
    - Curriculum vitae (max 2 pages)
    - Letter of recommendation from the advisor

  • Important Dates:

    • Submission deadline: September 25, 2025 (AoE)

    • Notification: October 23, 2025 (AoE)

    • Camera-ready: November 6, 2025 (AoE)

We welcome papers from a wide range of disciplines, including computer science, education, cognitive science, psychology, sociology, ethics, economics, and human-computer interaction, with a focus on the adoption of artificial intelligence methods and techniques in the learning sciences. 


The main topics of interest under the above umbrella include, but are not limited to:

  • Theoretical and methodological foundations
  • Design and engineering of artificial intelligence
  • Empirical studies and evaluation
  • Socio-technical and ethical perspectives
  • Applications and emerging technologies
