Machine Learning Researcher

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and test processing algorithms and solutions to real world problems exploiting state-of-art machine learning and data science techniques
  • Collaborate with an international team of engineers, scientists and researchers
  • Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, reports and version release notes.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Good understanding of Machine Learning and/or Data Science theory and hands-on experience with open-source tools to solve real-world problems (e.g. Pandas, Scipy/Numpy, Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, Keras, MLFlow, Netpune, etc.)
  • Very good knowledge of programming languages like Python (C/C++ is a plus)
  • Ability to cooperate with cross-functional teams to create project roadmaps for data-driven products
  • Team working capabilities and flexibility but also strong autonomy in working by objectives
  • Good communication skills in English 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master degree in Computer Science or Physics or Mathematics or other relevant technical fields (PhD is a plus)
  • At least 3 years of industry or academic experience in the Data Science / Machine Learning fields

DESIRED CRITERIA

The following skills will be valuable but are not essential:

  • Knowledge of Git and modern team collaboration tools (Atlassian suite is a plus)
  • Experience with Big Data tools (e.g., Spark, Databricks, MLFlow, ...)
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Scientific research background and understanding of experimental design, statistics, probability theory, predictive modelling, and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing
  • Open-mindedness and multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving
