In celebration of the 2019 edition of South African Women’s Month and National Science Week, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS South Africa) in collaboration with African Gong – The Pan-African Network for the Popularization of Science & Technology and Science Communication in Africa, plans to host a three – day Women’s Advancement Forum: International Exchanges, Research & Academia (WAFIRA). The workshop will bring together at least 150 Women in STEM academia and research and at early career stages (Hons’, Masters’, PhD’s, and Post-Doctorates) from higher education and research institutes in the Western Cape.

ELIGIBILITY:
All early career stages women researchers or academics in STEM (Hons’, Masters’, PhD’s, and Post-Doctorates) from Stellenbosch University (SU), the University of Cape Town (UCT), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) & the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and research institutes in Cape Town are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to female students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. Only participants who have completed the registration form to confirm their participation and have received formal notification that their applications have been accepted will be allowed to take part in the workshop!
