Dear AIMS-Cameroon Community,

On behalf of the Centre President of AIMS-Cameroon, Prof. Mama Foupouagnigni, we send warm wishes to you, your family, your loved ones and your community for a joyful and peaceful holiday season. We hope the past year has been meaningful and productive, and we look forward to reconnecting in the new year. Together, we made 2025 a year of steady growth and meaningful impact.

Some highlights from 2025 include:

  • The graduation on 26 June 2025 of the 12th cohort of the Structured Master’s programme and the 5th cohort of the Co-operative Master’s programme, with 50 graduates from 14 African countries, including 21 women. This brings our alumni community to 557 graduates from 29 African countries, with more than 65 PhD holders.

  • The successful placement and follow-up of 17 Co-operative Master’s students, all making good progress in their host institutions.

  • Support for inclusive participation by welcoming a student who arrived with her four-month-old child, and providing the necessary support to enable her to successfully complete the research component of the Co-operative Master's programme. She is currently completing her internship.
  • The successful relocation to our permanent facilities in Ngeme/Limbe in July 2025, and the hosting of high-level visits, including Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo, Minister of State and Minister of Higher Education (July 2025), and Professor Wilfried Gabsa, Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education (December 2025).
  • Capacity building for secondary school mathematics teachers through two Teacher Training Programme (TTP) workshops on AI in mathematics education and the digitalization of mathematics lessons, held in Bafoussam (6-8 February 2025) and Bamenda (27-29 March 2025), reaching 60 participants serving as Cluster Leads in their respective schools.
  • The organization of major academic and outreach activities, including the Conference on Geometry and Topology (2-5 July 2025); the Math Women Bootcamp (5-14 August 2025), which brought together 40 high school girls; and the 2nd African Modelling and Analytics Academy for Women (AMAX) Summer School (1-14 May 2025), jointly organised with the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun.
  • Initiatives to support well-being, including a Mental Health Workshop for students, tutors, and staff (December 2025).

None of this would have been possible without the combined efforts of AIMS-Cameroon students, lecturers, staff, alumni, partners, and supporters. As we look toward the opportunities and collaborations ahead in 2026, we extend heartfelt thanks to each of you for your dedication, resilience, and commitment.

Best wishes,

AIMS-Cameroon
