Howdy y'all,

Here's some more news from Agiga.

The iOS app is available for download. It doesn't do much with no glasses, but you can get it anyway. That way', you're ready to get started. If you're anything like me, you'll want to open the box and get going yesterday. You can download the iOS app from here:

I do not yet have information on when the Android app will release. When I do, I'll let y'all know soonest.

I will say I am sad to not have an opportunity to try them. Slightly peeved that it’s because of the unresponsiveness of the company on a simple question over the intake form for shipping the current round of units despite sending it multiple ways and having weeks with a lack of response.

However; I am interested in seeing people’s experiences who do get it.

Hi Jeff,

I’m sorry you haven’t had any response on this. Just started this week and am working through the backlog. I’ll forward to the right people who should have access to your submissions so we can see what went wrong.

Hi Buddy, I used the link in the email below to install the app on my iPhone. I then launched the app and chose create an account. When I entered the email address (fr...@littlebreezes.com) that I put into the “final shipping” Google form I filled out; it told me that the email doesn’t match any paid customer. Ouch! Did they lose my order. I did pay fully up-front. I know you are coming on-board but can someone look into this for me?

Thanks

Frank

Howdy Frank,

Are you sure you used that email address? Do you have another one perhaps?

I’ll definitely look into this for you. So, when you went to create an account, it didn’t take your email? Please try again for me. I wonder if you accidentally clicked on login rather than create? That’s happened to me a time or several.

Hi Buddy, thanks for the response. Yes I made sure I was using the create an account button. I tried both my littlebreezes account (fr...@littlebreezes.com) and my gmail account (frank.m...@gmail.com). I pasted the Google forms response below my signature and my receipt below it. Thanks

Frank

Hi Buddy!

I got the same message about not finding a paid customer with my email that everybody else is getting. Could it be that you won't be in the database of paid customers for the app until your glasses have been shipped?

Thanks!

I am also having the same issue it says the email does not match any paid user.  I tried my account where I get the emails from you guys and my husbands because the glasses are for him and I thought I might have put his email as the email to use on the app but both say the same message.  Please, help. Thank you for your time and assistance with all this.

Hi y’all,

That is indeed possible. I will get some answers about this for you, as I haven’t replicated this. Of course, I actually have a pair of glasses, so that might have a bearing on it. Didn’t think of that. I guess that just proves that we none of us knows everything. Yet.

Hello Buddy!
It’s so nice having you to respond to all of us. You are doing a good job trying to help us with all our issues.
I was able to sign into app with no issues. The only thing that I can think of, as far as why this is happening, is one may have to be in Pioneer program in order to sign into app. Could this be the issue?

I’m wondering if maybe they just haven’t added everyone’s information in yet and are still in process.  As we are a part of the pioneer group and are also experiencing this issue.

Or what it’s worth, I was able to create an account, but didn’t receive any sort of email acknowledging said account creation as is normal in such circumstances. After going through the prompts about allowing location services and bluetooth, I was then taken to a screen where it advised that it was scanning for the glasses. That was about as far as I got as I don’t have the glasses yet.

Here is what happened for me on my iPhone:

After installing the app I tapped on Create account and each time I entered my email, the one I used for the order, I got booted out of the app and back to my home page.

After I think 3 attempts,, I first entered a password, then did the email and that worked.

I was then able to log in, but at this point I will have to wait for the glasses since it seems the next step is to let the app scan for the glasses.

As I said, I did use the email address which I used for my order, but only because it is my primary email address. If you are supposed to use the email address you specified when filling out the Google form then I may have missed this bit of info, but I thought I reviewed whatever was there on the login screen. Maybe this information should be front and centre before you do anything else after you open that app because I thought I could use any email I want to create an account.

Best regards,

Sieghard

Sieghard,

Did you get any error message?

After I chose create account, I entered both my email that I used for the preorder and the pioneers sign up, then entered the password I wanted to use for the account. Then I tapped the create or continue button and got the cannot find paid customer error message.

hi,
One thing I found in the app after entering your password do not hit the inner button flick down to whatever choice create account or sign in the enter key does something and you'll get an error every time.

That is my default method of finishing a login or creat account page whenever possible. The only time I use the Enter key on the on screen keyboard is when the button to continue isn't available.

OK, then you were probably booted back to the app;s home page because the form was incomplete.

Hi,

Thanks for these reports.

As to the account creation, I did get some clarity on that.

Indeed, the paid account status is tied to pioneers email addresses. All of those accounts should be available to set up by Monday.

Appreciate y’all.

Buddy,

Thanks for that report, since I can't do anything with the app without the glasses, I am going to shelve playing with the app until I get my glasses sometime in December before Christmas. The closer to Christmas they arrive the more they'll feel like a Christmas present to myself which will make for an interesting Christmas!

I closed out and launched the app again and this time, I get different tabs. Poking around in settings, it seems :speech speed" maxes out at 2.0 times. I'll be curious to find out how that actually sounds in practice. I have my iPhone's Samantha voice set at 100% so hopefully, it won't feel too slow.

Hi buddy,

My daily driver is an Android phone, but I had an iPhone 6s that I tried to download the app so that I could get a head start on the account creation.
The issue I found was that you have to have iOS 16.6 or later.
Please consider adjusting the iOS Deployment Target down to 14.0 to maximize accessibility for users who retain older hardware, such as the iPhone 6s and 7 series. Can you please advise on the estimated development effort and any potential API deprecation issues this change would introduce?
Thanks,

Dan

This would be a Huasong question. I’m not sure if we could make such an adjustment or not, but I can tell you that Android will be supported. We don’t have an app yet though. I also don’t know what minimum system requirements for it would be, but I have an inquiry in about that as well.

You can find it by searching for "echovision".

I mean no offense and this is obviously just my opinion, but the iPhone 6S was released in 2015 and the iPhone 7 in 2016, that is definitely getting to be old hardware and I doubt many who use their iPhone as their main device would still have an iPhone 6S or 7; in fact from the Viphone list I would say it is even rare if somebody still uses an iPhone 8. I assume there are reasons why developers stop supporting older versions of iOS and Agiga probably has their hands full with continued development of the glasses to worry about hardware which is long since past its due date.

File me under the folks who are getting the account error. I am attaching the screenshot of what pops up.

Try "EchoVision smart glasses". I believe that may be the app's full name.

Why don’t people just use the link provided in the original email of the thread?

I used dictation and then deleted the space it put between echo and vision.

I don't know braille, sorry.

Because using the link on my Windows PC wouldn't be of much help. And I had no trouble finding it by searching.

Depends. If UEB, likely, it’s dot 4 followed by dot 1. In computer Braille, it’s dots 4 and 7.

You haven’t yet. But setting up one will involve the email address you used on your pioneers form. As outlined in a previous email, all pioneers accounts should be available to create by Monday.

Butch, I don't think anybody set up an account when they purchased the glasses. You have to create it first.

I'm trying to do it on my phone, but I was never any good at
typing text on that thing. I'm trying to do it with a braille
display, but can't find a back space key or delete key. Will
keep trying. Even though I wrote them and asked them to change
my email to the new address, it didn't like my new one, so will
start over with my old one.

you are right dot four by dot 1.  Now I can't log in, guess I misstyped my password.  and it of course wants to send a new password link to my old address.  I hate typing on the phone.

Ah. Yeah, that would be a small problem. Perhaps something liuke a small folding bluetooth keyboard? I’d suggest the RiVO keyboard, which at $129 in its first version wasn’t terrible, but the current one…is…expensive. But then there’s that other not Braille keyboard … Heibel with some suffix to differentiate from the Heibel thats Braille. Ask AT Guys about it.

I have a wired keyboard for the iPhone that plugs into the lightning port. Typing on it is better but not ideal. I have tried to find out if I could use an adaptor of some type to connect a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard 4000 to my phone. That is the keyboard I am most used to.

If it’s a USB keyboard, I don’t see any reason a USB to USB-C adapter wouldn’t work. And those are pretty easy to come by. Assuming it’s a USB keyboard and not an AT one.

For my phone it would have to be a USB-A to lightning cable. The problem I see with this is that there are keys on an Apple keyboard that are not on a Windows keyboard, and visa versa.

hi,
On Amazon you can buy a USB a to lightning connector or a USB-C to lightning connector which would cover any kind of keyboard that you wanna hook up to your iPhone.

All the keys are there, they’re just in slightly different places. Alt is the Mac option key, and the Windows key maps to CMD on the Mac.

There are lots of fantastic Bluetooth keyboards out there which you can easily use with your iPhone and many Logitech keyboards can be paired via Bluetooth to your iPhone and via a USB dongle to your computer and it just takes a button press to switch between the two of them.

I know that, what I'd need to know is that the Apple specific keys on an Apple keyboard would map to keys on my Windows keyboard and which keys would become which Apple specific keys. Without that hooking up my Windows keyboard to my iPhone wouldn't accomplish anything. Besides, I didn't say I couldn't type using the on screen keyboard on my iPhone, because I can, I simply said I didn't enjoy it. So hooking up my Windows keyboared to my iPhone isn't really necessary.
