Hi List,

I have been using the meta smartglasses for about 10 months.

I will receive  the echovision pioneers  glasses in a few weeks.

Is the camera on the echovision glasses similar to the specifications   on the meta glasses released about a year ago?

Thanks,

Monte Single

According to chat gpt the meta camera is a 12 megapixel wide angle while the agiga echovision is a 13 megapixel wide angle. So very similar with the agiga having slightly higher resolution. I think that the wide angle means that both cameras are in landscape mode.

I don’t have the newest model of the meta glasses, but the previous one. The camera is very definitely in portrait rather than landscape mode. I understand from all the echo vision information that I have read that their camera is in landscape mode giving a wider view View.

Hi,

The Meta glasses camera is in portrait mode, whereas EchoVision is in landscape mode. Thus, EchoVision will take a picture in a wider area that isn’t as tel. We’re saying that the viewing area should be about 50% grater than that of the Meta glasses due to our landscape orientation, which will mean that lining up objects to view will be less critical, and more area to either side will be visible than with Meta.

I’d actually like to know what each camera means by “wide angle” though. 90 degrees? 120 degrees? I think ultrawide would be more like the 170 degrees boasted by cameras like GoPro.

Buddy,

I recall hearing once that wide angle could be no more than 120 degrees with most wide angle cameras being around 110 degrees. If you get an attachable fisheye lens of course, you can get an even wider view. 110 degrees is about shoulder width for the average person.
