There is an anomaly or a difference between the troubleshooting guide with Amy‘s well-done video, which is correct, and the actual user manual. Relevant to the hotspot connection. If running an iPhone, and I do not know about android phones, sorry, in the instructions in Amy’s video and in the troubleshooting guide which are correct, you do not want to turn on maximize compatibility mode in the iOS iPhone hotspot set up screen. That will simply slow the glasses down to essentially what would equate to a 2.4 GHz speed, rather than the typical 5 GHz network that many home Wi-Fi’s are already on.
The manual or users guide indicates to turn on maximize compatibility mode, I have set up probably 30 hotspots for other Agiga EchoVision users, and we find that, just like an Amy’s correct video, maximize compatibility mode should be set to off. The users guide says if available, turn it on. I have been trying to get Agiga, at this point unsuccessfully, to make a change in their users guide or owners manual, but they have been unable to do so, for reasons that I know not of.
The other instructions are fine, in both the users guide, Amy’s video, and the troubleshooting guide. Joining the hotspot within one minute, is helpful, as sometimes the phone and hotspot and the glasses will time out.
I do hope that whoever reads this email message from me and has access to the users manual that Tom Has put the link to in his message, will go back and update the phrase about if available turn on maximize compatibility mode, it should be set to off in the vast majority of cases. Again, this is correct in Amy’s video and in any other troubleshooting page, but it is not correct in the users guide, so, unless all other troubleshooting steps have failed, please try not to enable maximize compatibility mode, should you happen to read that section in the users guide.
I will say this as a last point, I have seen some glasses, very few, maybe one or two, that could not connect, unless use compatibility mode was enabled, that could be due to some sort of Wi-Fi defect or internal antenna defect in those one or two pair of glasses. But the other 28 or so agiga EchoVision users that I have assisted, have all had tremendous success using compatibility mode set to off, for the fastest and most reliable connection. I do not know why one or two pairs of the glasses would not connect under any circumstances with compatibility mode set to off, and we had to switch it on, but I chucked that up to some sort of Wi-Fi or antenna or circuitry defect. Most of the time, compatibility mode unless you absolutely have no ability to connect, should be set to off in the iPhone iOS hotspot connection screen.

It helps if you tell us what mobile OS you are using with your companion app, since, in this case the instructions vary between iOS and Andoid.
