Hi,

The reason that Meta doesn’t have a subscription is because the monetize your data. In other words, the money they make is off your searches, browsing, Facebook interactions, and advertising revenue. And even though they own the Meta AI, they still have to pay those AI usage costs (computer resource usage, bandwidth, and so on.) And, being a multi-billion dollar company, they can more easily absorb those costs if they need to. (And really, as they do things with your data as outlined in their terms and conditions, they don’t need to absorb those costs.) Agiga, being a smaller than multi-billion dollar company, must pay for the use of the AI’s that we use to process requests.

Thanks for that description. Personally, I would rather pay for a subscription than to allow some faceless and uncaring corporation to do whatever they want with my information. Meta is a social media company first and foremost, not a company interested in making products and services that benefit the blind and visually impaired, like Agiga. That said I simply do not trust Meta and that is why I have never had any interest in their smart glasses.

You’re welcome.
Once I get a demo and I hope I would be able to,of these echovision glasses I really do hope they work out for me.
If there was a way I could sell these Meta glasses I would.
I didn’t know Meta could do what buddy explained that I sent to this glasses group.
I will wait for the updated version of the glasses as well.
Hopefully, the updated version of the glasses will also be reasonably priced.

Thanks for reading regarding this matter.

Hi,
I agree with what you wrote, I'm also fed up with meta methods and would prefer a subscription to Agiga, but I'm afraid that they don't want to aim for a global market and we here in Europe might have to rely only on Ray Ban or the future Google glasses.

I believe that they do want to be global, but consider that Agiga is a one year old startup and may not have the resources for that now. They have to start somewhere and they have chosen to start in the US and Canada.

There is nothing stopping you  ordering them. They are not available in Australia yet either, and a few of us have ordered them here. We just have to be prepared to pay the shipping.
