Hi, thought I start a new thread since I previously mentioned that Voiceover was still coming through the glasses even after I removed them, folded the arms and put them in the case.

Just now I took them off, but was still holding them near my head and I heard "Removed, phone disconnected" and in fact when I checked my iPhone, Voiceover was back on my phone. Just now the glasses are sitting on my desk with the arms folded and Voiceover is on my iPhone, but when I check in Settings > Bluetooth, it still says the glasses are connected.

There are two bluetooth channels that the glasses use. One is for control of the glasses, it has BLE in it name. The other is for audio to and from the glasses so you can use them as headphones or a headset, that one will not have BLE in it's name. Which one is still connected? It's probably the control channel and that is why your phone's audio is still coming through your phone.

Yes I noticed this as well. I also noticed that when I put them in the charging case that they turned on. I pot them in at 100% and when I took them out they were at 84% They should not be draining.

Hi,

I got my unit to do this most often when I:
1. Closed the app and put them in the case.
2. Opened the app. At this point, audio is still coming through the phone and glasses are in the case.
3. Lock the phone, wait a few seconds, and then unlock it again. Often, but not every time audio begins coming through the glasses and again, they are still in the case.

Jean, I only see the glasses once in Settings > Bluetooth. "BLE" stans for Bluetooth Low energy, but as I said, I don't see my glasses twice. Hopefully Buddy or somebody from Agiga can chime in here and explain how it should be. Of course it would also be helpful what others see. When I pressed the AI button 6 times which the glasses correctly confirmed started Bluetooth pairing, I went to Bluetooth settings on my iPhone, the glasses were at the bottom and I tapped on them and they paired. I then renamed them "EchoVision Glasses" and specified that they were a headset and that is all I had.

Brianna, did you make sure you removed the very small plastic tab right where the glasses sit over the bridge of your nose? I had the same experience at first until I read there was a little tab so the glasses would not charge during the delivery.

Yes I did. I suspect that the glasses got disloged or something like that.

The glasses have a feature that is as yet undocumented that is apparently supposed to allow the glasses to detect if they are being worn or not, the feature is called wearer detection and I have doubts about its effectiveness. I am considering turning this feature off as I have never liked this kind of technology, it more often than not seems to cause all kinds of problems.

I have noticed that the glasses keep trying to pair with my phone on the control channel even though the EchoVision app says they are connected. The request to pair dialog causes problems with my phone in that it presents me with a totally blank screen for a period of time until the dialog finally shows itself.

Very annoying.

Have you read the users guide? In a section about using your glasses as headphones or a headset, it specifically says that you should pair with the bluetooth connection with a name that doesn't have the BLE in it. That tells me there must be two bluetooth channels, one low energy and one not.

Considering that there are undocumented features their user's guide is probably not fully up to date, and so is missing information and has incorrect information making it not a good place for information about the glasses.

I can understand how some people might not find the clip on sun glasses, they are very thin and could easily be mistaken as part of the glasses, but that tab was pretty obviouds to me.

I read the user's guide, but as I said, I can only pair to the listing which shows up in my Bluetooth settings that I see and if I only see one listing then that is what I can pair with. I saw nothing about a second listing with "BLE" in the name even if that is specifically mentioned in the user's guide. Maybe I simply missed it and after connecting more or less accidentally to the right connection the other one went away, I can't say for sure, but even now when I forget the glasses and pair them again, I only see one instance of the glasses.
Also, just because some features/information is missing does not mean that what is there is incorrect or not good information. So far I found whatever is in the user's guide works as advertised. I totally agree that for example triple pressing the power/camera button has to be added and in time maybe there should be information about things like the wear detection although this could be explained with a single line below the actual control as it is often done with iPhone settings. The user's guide at this stage focuses on the actual glasses and not on what is in the app because there is also nothing in the user's guide about connecting to Air and Be My Eyes and while again it's pretty straight forward, I agree that a section describing what all can be done in the app should be added.

Well I disagree with you because I just spent half an hour or more trying to get the AI to answer questions as you described and so far got nowhere. A couple of times it told me it couldn't complete my request because and then it went into a complete misinterpretation of what I asked, but most of the time all I got were beeps in various pitches. After a while I just gave up and powered off the glasses.

So far for me this isn't any better than the Ally Solos glasses I returned.

What I had to do to get it to show up correctly in Bluetooth on my iPhone 15 Pro Max was to forget the BLE one. Get out of Bluetooth settings, put the glasses in pairing mode, and then go back into Bluetooth settings. It then showed up as an addable device in the correct name.

Haylie,

It sounds more like you like to make wild and unfounded assumptions about things you know nothing about. Shame on you!

For your information I have read the user's guide numerous times trying to figure out if I am doing anything wrong and I am following all the instructions as they are written. Yesterday, when my glasses arrived, I had no trouble completing the initial set up. Then today I had no trouble setting up my phone's hotspot and connecting my glasses to it. Then when I started actually trying to use the glasses, that is when the problems began. I kept going back to the users guide to see if I was missing anything but found that I was following their instructions, minimal and vague as they are.

I contacted support and they said that they were able to reproduce the problems I was reporting and then told me how to send the diagnostic data they needed. At least they aren't making wild and unfounded assumptions like you.

The next time you feel like making assumptions about other people you know nothing about, try just keeping your big mouth shut! Shame on you!

Excuse me, It doesn’t mean anything. My headphone died before I knew it died. You need to be nicer. I don’t know, Jean. I don’t know how old Jean is. But it doesn’t matter not everybody was born in the age of computers. Some of us were born long before computers had even been thought of. I am old enough that I can remember driving my parents crazy because no matter what time of day it was I would b up and watching the Saturn/Apollo moon missions. And I watched with great interest the beginning of the micro computer revolution with the altair 8800. For the next several years I made money by building computer kits for people who wanted the computer but didn't want to build it. It was a whole lot better than what I would have gotten if I got an allowance from my parents like my siblings did. My first computer that I owned was an Apple II with 64K of memory and two disk drives.

Funny, you are just a cry baby that cannot mind his own business.  Shut up or I will will deal with this as harassment.

Haylie and James,

Both of you please cut it out. There is not room on this list for a shouting match. Hailie, I agree people should spell your name correctly. However, there are several different versions of Haylie and even if someone doesn’t spell your name correctly, don’t fall into the trap of taking things so personal. You would be surprised how many different ways I encounter misspelling Michael. UFTA!

James, also please stop this. We all are trying to learn and contribute to the EchoVision system. We don’t need fighting.

And, if either of you think I am not minding my own business, getting good constructive content on this list is everyone’s business.

Best Regards,

I take offense to anyone dekiberately misspelling my name which he did.  I would have said nothing had he spelled it correctly.

Oh my god,  and then there are all those people who want to spell my name with a y instead of an e.

The very nerve!!

Haylie, lighten up.

It sounds the same.

Cheers,

M o n t e!  ha ha ha!!

Nope.  I am sick and tired of people spelling it wrong, and at least those who are of higher class than all of you spell it right or if they don’t, they catch their mistake and correct it.  Keep on spewing nonsense, and I will begin spelling all of your names incorrectly.  I have ignored this topic at this time, and I will not see any replies to it.  A shoutout to Buddy for catching his mistake earlier and correcting the spelling of my name.  Most people don’t have that amount of decency to correct their mistakes.  They really do not.

That is not a minor deal.  You grow up.  If you do not wish to make sure that you spell names correctly, then you have a lot to learn missy.

As someone who has three first names with one containing nine letters and has spent a lifetime spelling it out for non-Spanish speaking folks… Let’s not all drown in a glass of water.

Hopefully this thread will be locked by whoever is running this list soon so we can get back to what’s actually important and why we’re all on this list to begin with.
