Hi y'all!

Aren't the EchoVision glasses supposed to go to sleep while they are in the charging case? I keep hearing mine talking though I don't know what it's saying because it's too quiet and by the time I get close enough to hear it, it has stopped talking. Is this happening to anyone else?

Thanks and Happy Holiday!

Sometimes the glasses connect and disconnect from the case while they are charging. This is a known issue.

Ah, Buddy told me that when the batteries get to 100% charged, the glasses stop charging them to avoid overcharging, then when they drop below 95% the glasses resume charging. I wonder if they accomplish this by disconnecting from and reconnecting to the case.

yes my case/glasses are talking in the middle of the night. I think they are saying power connected/disconnected. they may be draining the battery on the glasses. My seems to not charge to 100%.  You are not hallucinating like AI does!  But I  do think the glasses will move forward with more bug fixes and updates.  Happy Holidays.

hi,
I've also noticed that when you put the glasses in the case, they don't have disconnect from Bluetooth. This means that times your audio will be going to the glasses while they're in the case rather than to the iPhone speaker. I'm not sure what to say on how to address this issue.

For the bluetooth causing phone audio going to the glasses instead of the phone, unpair your phone from the glasses, unless you are in public and want to keep what your phone says to you private or you are in a noisy environment that makes the phone's speaker hard to hear, there really isn't a need or reason to pair the phone and glasses together.

And for the glasses draining its battery while in the case, Buddy says that is normal, the glasses stop charging the battery when it reaches 100% charged, then starts recharging them when they drop below 95%. So it is normal to have your batteries somewhere above 94% when you take them out of the case.

Personally I'd prefer it if the glasses announced connecting and disconnecting only when they are put in or taken out of the charging case. But having them talk to themselves while in the case is something I'm sure I'll get used to, so it's not a big deal. Just something I'm noticing because I believe that it's not what you usually find.

Why would the glasses completely drain of battery charge over night?  There are issues with this charging case and the charging system.  Does nnot the glasses turn off after a certain time after no use?  I have had the glasses since December 18 and this is the first instance of this issue. Also I cannot place mediafrom my glasses to my camera or photo app,  there is a Echo Vision folder in those apps.  With these Pioneer glasses there seems to be features that are present but, there seems to be no way to test them.  No worries I am still a rabid fan and look forward to more fixes and complete features.

Apparently all they do is go into a "sleep" mode after a period of no use. If you want them completely turned off, you have to do it yourself and then don't put them in the charging case or they will turn right back on.

Follo up on my glasses draining overnight, the case indicated a 75% charge but, the glasses drained completely but, the case was at 75%.  The charging system needs work and the glasses should have the capability to shutdown after a reasonable period.

Agiga is aware that there are problems between the glasses and the charging case, you should contact them at sup...@agiga.ai

Did you hear “power on” when you put the glasses in the case? My guess is that even though the glasses were in the case, they did not make proper contact and therefore they didn’t charge. I have never had an issue with my glasses connecting and charging in the case, as long as the case of power period.

At first it bothered me that the glasses didn't stay turned off when I put them in the case, but now I don't bother turning them off and I listen for the power connected prompt when I put the glasses into the charging case. That way I know that the glasses have connected to the case.

Gene,
First, I thank you for being a Pioneer. I have chosen to let the Pioneers be the Betta testers.

I sincerely hope that your comments good and bad will be studied by the developers.

If I ever get the completed unit and the glasses work well, I have people like you to thank.

I would hope that Agiga would set up a webinar to listen to the concerns and praises of our great pioneers.

Helping Hands for the Blind would be proud to let Agiga use one of our Zoom rooms for such a discussion.

I don't know what I did to fix it but I can now launch the EchoVision app and not get a blank screen. So today I have a doctor's appointment so I will be trying the glasses out in public for the first time.I will be curious to see if I can pair my glasses with my Victor Reader Stream for something to listen to while on the road. It's a 45 minute trip to get there.

Wish me luck!

Well, I'm back from my first time out and about with my glasses and I have to say that if these were billed as a finished product I would be returning them.

The first problem I ran into was getting my glasses connected to my mobile hotspot, I would go into the EchoVision app to switch my glasses to my hotspot and it wouldn't be listed. So I'd go to the control center on my iPhone and turn on my hotspot, then I'd go back to the EchoVision app and still my hotspot wasn't listed, so I'd go back to the control center on my phone and find that my hotspot had turned itself off, so I'd turn it back on, it was then that I noticed that my hotspot would stay on for only a few seconds then turn right back off, it took a number of tries before it would stay on so I could switch my glasses over to it, what a pain! Then when I'd try to do something like click the right button once to get a scene description, my glasses said "removed", then after a short pause, "going to sleep", and that was all she wrote, no matter what I did I could not get the glasses to wake up, I had to take them off for several seconds, then put them back on then hope that they would wake up, but instead got a message saying that the glasses were just turned on, not just awakened, and of course I was no longer connected to my hotspot so I had to go through all of that again. Finally I get a scene description and it worked. Then I decided to try live AI but was told the network was unstable and I should try again later. When I did I got another "removed, going to sleep" message and had to go through all of that yet again. I lost count of how many times that happened. Totally frustrated I gave up, turned off the glasses and switched to just plain old sun glasses for the rest of the trip.

In all a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I sure hope that these problems can be worked out because when they work, these glasses are great!
