I was able to go out yesterday for most of the day. I used live AI a lot. First I tried them while my husband was driving. It described to me everything, including road signs and how many vehicles were in front of us. We went to Walmart. It described to me the vehicles in parking lot and the Walmart building. I asked it if it saw a handicap sign. It saw several and described to me the vehicles in front of the signs. I asked if it saw a handicap sign with no vehicle. It did. I asked it several questions while in store about signs and products I was holding. It did great describing everything to me. When we were in checkout, I asked it it saw any restrooms. If course, I knew there was. It told me the restrooms were at 2:00, there is a gray door with a sign that says employees only. To the left of that door is a women restroom. To the right of the door is a men restroom. There is an orange safety cone in front of door for employees only. To the right of men restroom is a water fountain. I found that very helpful to me. We then went to eat at a buffet style restaurant. While standing at buffet, I asked glasses to tell me what food was in front of me. It was able to identify certain foods, such as green beans, macaroni and cheese, corn, etc. other items it could not identify, such as dirty rice. It said rice with some type of meat mixed in it. I was able to puck out exactly what I wanted on the buffet and make my own plate without my husband’s assistance. I felt like such a big girl lol. 😂 Now here is a funny story. As I was asking it what foods are in front of me, a lady approached me. She asked me if I was blind. I said yes. She told me there was no one there to tell me what food was there. She then offered her assistance. That was really nice of her. I then explained that I was talking to my glasses. She was a bit confused. I explained to her about the glasses and let her try them. She was very impressed. We later went to a drive through place to see the Christmas lights. I kept the glasses in live AI mode for the entire time. It did a great job explaining the lights and the color of the lights. It did get a bit confused with the color of some of the lights. It said some were purple when they were actually blue. Not a big deal to me. It described candy canes, snowmen, and other items it saw. It was an enjoyable experience. Not everything was perfect. But for the most part, I was pleased with how the glasses performed. I know there are still bugs to work out and I’m a very patient person. I have never used any other type of glasses. So I don’t have anything to compare it to.

And you were able to do all of this without having to mute your microphones? To keep live AI from constantly being interrupted and having to start over I had to mute my microphones. I thought that this has to be fixed because having to mute the microphones rather defeats the whole idea behind live AI.

Well, yesterday's syfirmware update must have contained some fixes for live AI because today when I tried it, the constant interruptions and starting over were gone and I was able to explore my apartment and hear descriptions of everything including colors. Something I have not had for the ten years I've been living here. If things can only improve, these glasses are going to be a great help!

If I can, I have a question for those of you who have gone exploring beyond your home WiFi's range. Do the glasses switch over to the hotspot smoothly or do I need to do that myself?

Buddy, If switching the WiFi we are tethered to has to be done manually, can Agiga come up with a jesture we can use on the glasses to tell them to switch? Or is this something that will always need the app? If it does, I may just connect my glasses to my phone's hotspot and leave it there. Let the phone do all the WiFi switching!

Hey, thanks for the review about the AI descriptions with these glasses. It is very much appreciated. I'm definitely thinking of looking into ordering some of these.

Gene,
No I had to mute the microphone. When I wanted to ask a question I had to unmute and hurry and mute again before she responded.

Hmmm, then I guess the reason why I was successful today was because it was relatively quiet. Don't you think that having to unmute, then mute the microphone rather defeats the whole point of live AI? It makes it feel like their single button push scene description with the difference being that the AI is looking at a video feed instead of a static picture.

My experience has been that once you set up your hotspot, it remembers to switch over automatically when you are out of wi-fi range as long as you remember to set it for being discoverable before you leave the house. I generally make it not discoverable when I get home. The only time I had to configure the whole thing again was after a factory re-set, otherwise, it is set it up once, and just turning it on, which I can tell Siri to do by saying something like, "Turn on hotspot," and it works well so far.

Thank you,
Lisa

My experience so far is that you don't have to turn off your hotspot, your glasses will stay on your home WiFi even if the hotspot is available. So I leave my hotspot on so it's always available to my glasses when they need it. And my glasses stay on my home WiFi. I have not yet tried going outside far enough away to lose my home WiFi to see what happens. I am hoping that since my glasses have been tethered to both my home WiFi and my hotspot, it will switch to the hotspot on the fly, then when I am back in range, they will switch back to my home WiFi.
