Apologies for the vague subject line. I am hoping to find someone who
already has the EchoVision glasses to run a simple test. Let me explain.

I have a few Christian hymn books which collectively contain close to
1000 Christian songs. The pages of these books contain the text of the
lyrics interspersed with music notation.

If any list member has one or more pages of song lyrics interspersed
with music notation, please attempt to read one or two pages and ask the
glasses to read the text and ignore the musical notes.

It likely won't give acceptable results, but it is worth a try.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to try.

Hi Don,

Can you send me a picture of a page you want to try.
I have no samples of a page with text and notation together, but is you send a sample I'll check it out.

mailto; mrsi...@sasktel.net

also, have you tried looking for just the lyrics of these hymns online.
They are likely on the web somewhere.

Dan, I have some sheet music. I need to remember where it is stored if I can locate it I will attempt to read the sheet music and see how it comes out. I suspect that it will read the lyric OK but it will be broken but it’s an interesting exercise and I will post the information on the list when I find the sheet music.

Don, I just pulled an old Christmas music book out of a couple of boxes and I attempted to read the lyric with the notation music notation. It appears to me that is is trying to read either a cord chart above the music notation or trying to make some sense out of some of the music notations it appears to me to be looking for the reading the time signature a little bit weird but below that it is reading a line of lyric a few words that you would see on that line, then it’s going back and it’s reading again and trying to translate the next music notation then another line of music. It honestly does not look to me like it is very doable. If you were going to use this to make lyrics for yourself to use I’m not sure that it would be worth all of the editing that is necessary. They’re probably has to be other sources besides the glasses to get just the lyrics to the songs you’re wanting I’m sorry because I two of the musician and I think it would be really cool to be able to go back to my old print scores and play that music again.
