My glasses will be arriving somewhere between December 10th and 20th. In preparation I decided to get the wearable external battery that goes around your neck. It just arrived and seems to be well made and very nice. Two colors are available, white and black, I chose black because I try to avoid flashy colors whenever possible to avoid making myself a target. It seems simple enough, a round button on the left which I suspect is the power button and what feels like two USB-C ports, I suspect one is power out for the glasses and the other is for charging the batteries. If I recall correctly this will give me 10,000 mAh of additional power for the glasses, which might be wanted for live AI.

Here is a link to them on Amazon.
https://a.co/d/dXVZpOq
They are currently on sale for Cyber Monday at 20% off.

Gene:
I also purchased this battery. Do you know which port is for charging and which is for power out? I haven't received the battery bank yet, and I have a delivery estimate of Dec. 10 to Dec. 20 for the glasses as you do.
Thanks.

Yeah, I used picture smart in jaws to look at the manual. The port closest to the end of the collar is the charging port and the one above it is for power out to your device, whatever that may be. Another way; iwhile wearing the collar, the bottom port is the charging port and the top port is power out.

A single tap on the power button turns on the collar to provide power to your connected device. A double tap turns the collar off.

I use BeMyAI for this next item. Near the power button is four charge status lights, each light represents 25% ocharged, so two lights is 50%, three lights is 75%, and four lights is 100% or fully charged.

I intend to have these with me all the time that I have my glasses on. They will usually be off. When I need to use live AI, then I will turn the battery collar on to preserve as much as possible the charge on the glasses' battery.

Good luck!

Hi,
I will be receiving my glasses between December 10 and 20 as well, so I also ordered one of these batteries. Thanks for the information.

Buddy,

Can you tell me exactly where on the EchoVision glasses the USB-C charging port is located? I'm asking because the cable that comes with the external battery in a collar you wear around your neck is quite short and because the charging connection is on the left side of the collar while the charging port is on the right side of the glasses so a slightly longer cable might be needed.

Thanks!

Hi Gene,

Yeah. The charge port on the glasses is right at the tip of the right arm. Like right at the back of your head. I shouldn’t think you’d need a very long cable; certainly the one that comes with EchoVision would be more than sufficient, ahtough I’d be surprised if the distance between the charge port on EchoVision and the power port on the battery is more than a foot. (I don’t have the battery pack myself, so I can’t check.)

Buddy,

OK! With the charging port at the very end of the right arm of the glasses, the cable is long enough. on my Bose Frames Tempo glasses the charging port is near the front of the right arm and in that configuration the cable would have been long enough as long as you didn't try to look to your left.

Next question. Do you plug the cable in from behind or below the glasses.

Hi Gene, I have the same charger and I have also received my echo vision glasses. I just tried the charger and glasses together and the cord that comes with the charger is definitely long enough if you put the cord behind your neck and connected to the glasses.

Hi Buddy,  I have the same charger as Jean and found that if you put the charging cord behind your neck it does connect easily to your glasses.

Yeah, I checked that myself by putting the collar on and pulling the cord to just behind my right ear. What a relief, really short cables like these aren't all that easy to find.

If you ever need any sort of cable check on Amazon, they have them from 6 inches and up and you can even find multi-connection cables where you have a USB-C end with an adapter to the larger/older USB-A and on the other end you have a USB-C end as well with attached adapters for Micro USB and Lightning.

Buddy,

I will get my Agiga glasses next year. Do I first charge the external battery and for how long and how many hours will I get?

Below. So the cable would come out the bottom of the arm, pointing downwards. Unless of course you used a right angle plug.

Hi,

It’s always a good idea to plug in any batteries you get to charge them initially. Or, in the case of the glasses, plug in or charge from thee case, but for sure plug in the case.

How many hours will depend on usage, but a 10,000 Ma/H battery will last quite a long time. Considering that the batteries in the glasses themselves are something between 16-220 ma/H, well, you do the math :)

OK. The cord that comes with the wearable battery pack has right angle plugs on both ends. I am wondering if a straight plug on the end that connects to the glasses might be better. I am thinking about convenience and minimising stress on the charging port.

The USB-C plug is on the end of the right stem of the glasses. As you wear the glasses, the port will be in back of you. The charging port is on the end of the stem. HDH,

Oh, so the case is a charging case like the case for my Bose Quiet Comfort wireless earbuds. That being the case, absolutely, charge the case and the glasses before using them. I'll just plug them in over night. Then start learning to use them the next day.

I'm asking because the cable that comes with the external battery in a collar you wear around your neck is quite short and because the charging connection is on the left side of the collar while the charging port is on the right side of the glasses so a slightly longer cable might be needed.

I’m fairly certain I did answer your question.

I haven’t seen, but I believe that the cable that comes with EchoVision does have a right angle plug on only one end.

Make that 160-220 ma/H for the capacity of the glasses. And the neck-worn battery is 10,000ma/H. So yeah, it will charge quite a few more than two or three times :-)

Good evening, All,
Is there a way to get this email list in a digest format? There have been way too many emails today. I can’t manage all these emails.

Hi,

There is. You can change your subscription on the Googlegroups website, but it’s a pain. I’ll fix it for you.

The website is:
It looks like they might not be taking new orders right now, but there is a form there where you can sign up for updates, etc, for when they are taking orders again.

Thank you,
Lisa

Hi Tom,

Currently, we are not open to general ordering, as we are concentrating on first, getting Pioneers Edition shipments out, second, improving and refining software and firmware, and finally, product release, beginning with shipments to preorder customers. Once we have reached final product release, we will have more information about general ordering, AI subscription costs, etc. Stay tuned.

Hi Buddy, I’ve seen this on the glasses list, and I think it would be great to have a 1 or 2 inch wide loop on the back of the case to put your belt through.

First I think that the case's robustness needs to be considered. For example, you could put belt loops on the case for the Envision Ally Solos glasses, but it wouldn't be a good idea because the case isn't designed with that use in mind.

If that's the case, since a case with belt loops doesn't need to be a charging case too, perhaps a second optional case could be offered for those who want a belt case for their glasses.
