Zoom has updated the software's security settings, and now hosts have ready access to controls for the Waiting Room, screen sharing, chats, and capacity for participants to rename themselves. Hosts and co-hosts managing the Participants List to admit participants from the Waiting Room, rename phone numbers as names (we keep a list of member phone numbers handy), look for Raised Hands. All hosts look at the chat.
For the security settings, Zoom recommends keeping the Waiting Room on (you can send people back to it if needed), turning off the share screen and chat (at least during the presentation), and turning off Rename Themselves. We've been keeping the chat on but restrict the participants to contacting the host during the presentation.
As a host/co-host I like setting up my screen with the main window in the center, Participants on the right and Chat on the left.

When I present (or preside) I squeeze the Zoom window and put the script above - as close to the camera as possible which helps me keep my face up. :-)
Cheers,
Bart
