Some time ago, I wrote all of you asking whether your Society ever considered replacing the term "Platform" with something else. Many of you responded, and though only one Society I know of actually did replace it, none of you liked the word.

As of today, we, Bergen County (NJ) Society, replaced the word Platform with Gathering. To make a long story short, several alternatives were considered by the Board, which then voted on them using ranked choice voting. . Gathering won, so we then put the following choices to the full membership by email (or, for the few who don't use email, by letter):

Whether to replace "Platform" with "Gathering"
Whether to use "Gathering" instead of "Platform"
None of the above (go back to the start)

Gathering won, and today we announced it officially in our e-newsletter.
