I thoroughly recommend Zefrank's "True Facts" videos for family fun, with cool photos and videos of odd creatures (e.g. the octopus, tarsier, mudflappers, sloth, seahorse) and a voiceover announcer is much snarkier than most documentary narrators. NOVES.ORG already had a successful "Demo" of about 20 People participating, the VIDEO/AUDIO/PHONE popular tool called ZOOM.US.

But there is another similar tool, but I think far more robust, offered by Google For Non-Profits. called G Suite with VIdeo/Audio Conferencing capabilities
but deeper "Educational" tools and resources, some of which I already use, for example, Google Photo Lab.

What's wonderful for us in the humanist community in USA, is that Google is offering the G-SUITE For free to qualifying non-profits such as my ethical culture community, NOVES.ORG.

I have asked NOVES for permission to create a "Demo Project" and a "Success Model" here in our Vienna, VA Fairfax County VA Urban Hub.

My question to you is this : Is anyone here in NYC, Chicago , LI, familiar with or already using G-Suite Tool, since many K=12 Teachers are already have access but mos schools systems who have this tool available, is paid for the respective K-12 School Sysem

So, that's background.

If any humanist congregation is already have been approved for Google G-Suite and the Video Conferenceing Tool, love to have conversation and share as I develop the "successs demo" here at Fairfax County VA as a "Success Model" ,.

Here is the URL For Google For Non-Profits that describes the G-Suite +

Hi, Carolyn.

Actually, I watched the praying mantis one, which was not so G-rated, so I advise pre-watching. They are mostly in the 2-8 minute range.

I made the mistake and posted on our SEEK FB page before I actually watched any of the videos. Watched the sloth and yikes!!!! Thankfully, I was able to delete the site before any children found it. 😀

Perhaps we could get a list of the "G" rated ones? I expect most of our tweens are already conversant in the language used in the one I watched on the Tarzier...

I have found that a lot more people (especially those who are technically challenged) have trouble connecting to the Google tools (hangout and classroom) than have trouble with Zoom.

Oh, Ken!  Yes, the sloth one was funny and snarky.  I watched a couple more and decided that they were still funny but pretty much "guy stuff" (not meant to be sexist in that comment).  Glad I didn't share before I watched more.  😳

These may be a better alternative for fun and snark:  Le Chat Noir.

Jone, I agree about the difficulty with the various platforms.  I am feeling technically challenged by several things Google.  😒  Part of the issue, I think, is technical writing.  Folks who already know how things work forget to cover the basics, and some of us are lost from the beginning.

Carrying on,

Carolyn
