Build and Run buttons missing in Emacs

I haven't run AD Studio in about year. When I tried today (double-clicked on AD studio shortcut), the program opened, but I noticed the Build and Run buttons are missing from the top of the Emacs editor. I loaded a .tpl file, thinking maybe it need that to indicated admb mode, but nothing happened. Anyone know what might be going on?
