This discussion is to track Pin a Pirate Artwork from 2D to 3D.

Attached are (6) 2D sketches for characters that Danielle Gaeta is working on.

Danielle is working on designing characters of different races as well as creating a standard inventory for character animation.

Here is a basic outline for components that would be compiled into a human body.

Hands

                Fingers

Waist

Legs

Could you elaborate a little bit more, I think I know where your going with this but want to make sure.

FYI, I used to own an animation studio and am also currently participating at the Game Developer Conference here in SF, so pretty interesting.

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Danielle is our talented High School Intern artist. We want Danielle to experience creating 2D to 3D most likely with Maya to bring characters to life in Pin A Pirate game.

Will utilize a Transmedia learning campaign for Cyber Security Awareness personal stories that play out through the optics and narratives of Pin A Pirate game characters (both good and bad) for students, teachers and parents.

Suggestions are always appreciated as the cohort evolves.

Thank you,
Sandy

In this example, "transmedia learning campaign" is in regards to "students, teachers and parents" correct?

As opposed to in regards to "Danielle experiencing converting 2d characters to 3d characters using Maya"?

I have an interest in both... cyber security awareness as well as the production of a transmedia learning campaign (specifically one regarding 2d/3d and a program such as Maya).

Is there a current attempt to capture the entire experience of said "Danielle" in such regard, or only in the external regard?

Many thanks, and very interesting!

Correct, transmedia learning campaign is in regards to "students, teachers and parents.Would also add school administrators.

Yes, we do plan to capture the entire experience of said "Danielle"

In addition to the High School Intern program, Danielle is participating in a visible  National Center for Simulation  High School Modeling &Simulation Pilot program that I am helping out as an advisor.

Plan to share more about the transmedia learning campaign next week and welcome your input.

I'm Danielle, the high school intern, and I'll be updating this discussion as I progress from 2D into 3D. The current goal is to model a male and female character base in Maya 2015 that we can edit to personalize each specific character. Each of the body parts listed in the inventory will be made into individual parts/objects and then assembled in Maya with the addition of joints to ensure that our characters are capable of animation and movement.

Hi Danielle, below I put the list of models we need for our prototype. If you can get textures for these too that would be great.

  • 3 IA characters
  • 3 Binnacle characters
  • Keypad with a screen (more of a wall mounted computer really)
  • Desktop, laptop, tablet, smart phone
  • Fluorescent ceiling lights (office and warehouse variety)
  • 3D representation of a binnacle piece (from the design doc)
Getting 1 character model for each faction should be the priority, then the keypad and computers. The rest is just extra stuff to make the prototype look better. Thanks and keep up the good work!

EDIT: Going to need a safe of some kind too.

Hi Danielle,

Please take a look at this site portfolio to give you some character design ideas from others that have developed for Virtual Worlds.

Wow very cool!

Hi Danielle, we are also going to need a logo designed for IA (Information Assurance), the good guy organization. This one can be in 2D. Thanks.
