This discussion will keep track of Transmedia Learning Campaign topics.  Next Tuesday Dr. Elaine Raybourn will meet with Brant Biskup, Peterson Civil and Sandy Masin to discuss crafting a targeted Transmedia Campaign.

Will keep the Digital Citizens team updated!

Transmedia Learning Campaign Update!

Earlier this week Peterson, Brant and I met with Dr. Elaine Raybourn to think-tank our Transmedia Learning Campaign.
What a fantastic interactive learning session and we are most grateful to Dr. Raybourn for guiding us.

Here are the rough draft notes from meeting that we will fine tune in the Project Plan with tasks over the next week

Goal is to Create Better Citizens Awareness
First mini game Digital Citizens Cyber Security Awareness via Pin A Pirate game
Attached are Transmedia resources and tutorial for the team 
Ethos  - NOUN
        1.Sociology the fundamental character or spirit of a culture; the underlying sentiment that informs the beliefs, customs, or practices of a group or society; dominant assumptions of a people or                period: In the Greek ethos the individual was highly valued.
        2.the character or disposition of a community, group, person, etc.
        3.the moral element in dramatic literature that determines a character's action rather than his or her thought or emotion.
Measure users’ knowledge through Badges
Measure which part is giving most return on investment
Research Study how behavior changes
Point to different experiences at different times of day
Users’ discovery of content both guided and unguided
Who is your favorite character?  Vote on Facebook.  Do not push user!
Create story world where users explore at their own pace.
Where does campaign push people to go afterwards?
Use analytics
‘Conductor” Elaine testing ADL has license?
Measure users’ beginning and ending state
How will the learners co-create? (students, teachers & parents)
Single player evolving to multi-player game 
Multi-culture (English, French and Spanish for cohort.  Than other languages after)
Survey in beginning to say “your answers will help create Better Citizens Awareness results and the design of  Pin A Pirate game”
Actions: play a casual game, read a book, take online class,  earn a badge with testing knowledge (explore competency models)
Co-Create Online Community like Hour of Code Campaign
Make videos like **Share your advice by making your own #DearMe  at http://youtubedearme.com   In celebration of International Women's Day, take part in YouTube’s global #DearMe initiative          to inspire and empower young girls everywhere

Citizens Aware Virtual Storyworld

Where the Goal is to Create Better Citizens Awareness.

By seeking Quest-ions and Storytellers to solve problems.

Series: Cyber Security Awareness

 

Episode: 001 - Pin A Pirate “Pirates Rule”

 

Opening Scene: outdoors virtual setting where actors (students, teachers, administrators and parents appear and find a seat) receive instructions to gather per type of actor then proceed to separate inside rooms and take a fun journey to solve Quest.

 

Problem Alert: Cyber Pirates Code: Red (Severe)  +6

 

Damage indicators: Cyber Pirates lie, cheat, steal and harm

Quest: Citizen Actors go on a journey with Cyber Security Awareness experiences via (2) paths guided and unguided

Question: What do you want to protect?

Answer: passwords, identity and data

Tasks: take surveys, watch videos, take courses, play Jeopardy game, play Pin A Pirate game, visit virtual worlds, use social media and storytelling

Measurements of Success: users’ beginning and ending state, scores, leaderboard, visualization maps and certification badges.

Forgot to include Virtual Co-creation as follows:

Virtual Co-creation: Actors will participate to co-create of Citizens Aware and new Game concepts such as Pin A Pirate with joint product development activities such as generating and evaluating  new  product  ideas;  elaborating,  evaluating,  or challenging product concepts; and creating virtual prototype.
