The summit will begin at 0800 and is expected to adjourn no later than 1700 each day.
The Combating Terrorism Mobile Learning Summit for Government is a unique opportunity for stakeholders to openly discuss the current mobile learning landscape, to identify present and future implementation challenges and security concerns, and to share lessons learned. The summit will bring together a wide range of stakeholders including leadership, mobile learning end users, and technical experts. The goal is to initiate inter-service, interagency collaboration and encourage an ongoing open dialogue of information pertaining to mobile learning and its use within the military and government communities. Space is limited, but we do currently have seats still available. Seats will be reserved for the representatives from each DoD service,U.S. Government agency (may include SETA contractors), and state and local law enforcement, first responders, and bomb technicians. Registrations will be accommodated up to the limit of the meeting room (150 people) based on the order in which Registration Forms (enclosure 2) are received. Please RSVP for the summit by completing the Registration Form and e-mailing it to: Erin.Gib...@cttso.gov.
Mobile Learning Requirements
In conjunction with the summit, the Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office is accepting mobile learning requirements for potential FY13 funding. Funding is available for DoD services, other Federal Government agencies, and state and local law enforcement, bomb technicians, and first responders as well. For each new requirement, an agency representative should prepare a Requirement Submission Form (enclosure 4) for submission to Erin Gibbens no later than COB on 15 May 2012, and should be prepared to present the requirement(s) to the summit attendees in 5 minutes or less on Thursday, 31 May 2012. The template and guidance for requirement submission is included as enclosure 4. Agency and service representatives should research, develop, and coordinate new requirements with end users and other potential users, as interagency collaboration is valued. In addition, agency/interagency funding should be secured for each requirement where possible. Those interested in submitting requirements for potential funding, please indicate this on your registration form so that we can begin early coordination with you. Erin Gibbens is available to assist with the research, development, and refinement of requirements, and coordination with interagency end users. Encl:

Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) The Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office is charged with providing a forum for interagency and international users to discuss mission requirements to combat terrorism, prioritize those requirements, fund and manage solutions, and deliver capabilities. The CTTSO accomplishes these objectives through rapid prototyping of novel solutions developed and field-tested before the traditional acquisition systems are fully engaged. This low-risk approach encourages interdepartmental and interagency collaboration, thereby reducing duplication, eliminating capability gaps, and stretching development dollars. Detailed information about CTTSO is available in the 2011 Review Book on the CTTSO Web site. Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative Utilizing technology to deliver information when, where, and for whom it is needed to enhance performance has long been the goal of ADL. The long-term focus of ADL's research and development goal is the creation of a capability that anticipates learner needs, seamlessly integrates new information, and provides ubiquitous access to effective, personalized learning content and/or job performance aids that are accessed through multiple non-invasive devices and platforms in the form of a Personal Assistant for Learning (PAL). Additional information about ADL is available on the ADL Web site.
We look forward to your participation.
